Q & A with the Atkinsons
What gives you both the most joy?
We love people—spending time with them, working alongside them, and simply loving on them. Family means the world to us, and our grandbabies bring us endless joy.
Travel is another passion of ours. Exploring new landscapes and cultures fills us with life, and we're so grateful for the ability to work from anywhere. With our little trailer (or caravan for our British friends!), we journey across North America—and thanks to reliable Wi-Fi, we stay connected wherever we go.
We even take our work abroad when we can. Honestly, it feels like we’re living the dream—and we don’t take it for granted.
Why did you start this business?
We are now in a season where we want to do all the things that we love and work with clients we love. We have accumulated so many skills and tools and don't see why we can't use them all in what gives us joy! We often travel so we can do all these things on the road!
What do you love about Life Coaching?
Watching people grow—whether in their personal journey, marriage, or parenting—is truly one of the greatest joys. We love asking the right questions and witnessing individuals rise to their own solutions.
There’s nothing more rewarding than knowing we've helped someone take steps toward a healthier, more fulfilling life.
We’ve walked alongside many couples on the edge of divorce, and it’s been incredible to see them slowly but surely rebuild trust, connection, and love. To coach them into thriving relationships—it’s a privilege and a joy.
What do you love about Wedding Coordination?
We feel it is such an honor and privilege to be part of someones very special day. We actually love putting together all the elements, guiding guests, serving the bridal party in whatever they need. And we get to do it in some fun locations locally and in the world!
Now in the personal realm....
How long have you been married?
We’ve been married for 37 years—and yes, we still actually like each other! Even though we work together and spend an awful lot of time in each other’s space, we genuinely enjoy it. (Most days!) Honestly, we just love being together… and haven’t driven each other completely crazy yet!
Children?
Yes. We have 4. 2 boys (well young handsome men!) and 2 girls (beautiful young women) that married in! We are blessed with a grandaughter and another on the way! Family to us, is our number one priority.
Do you have a faith?
Yes. We have been Christians for years. We love God so much and we listen alot to the Holy Spirit as we do our work and daily lives. We make a point of having no judgement and love on people of all or no faith. Don't worry, we won't preach at you!
Where are you from and where do you live now?
Glen: I was born in San Francisco, lived in the UK from 11years old and then back to California. My parents were born in the UK... its a long story!
Penelope: I was born in the UK, in a little village outside of London called Pangbourne.
We now both live in Southern California... we know... it's beautiful weather!
What did you think of each other when you first met?
Penelope: We met at church. I was like, "Who is this yank in our midst?!" He was nerdy looking and I thought not my type, but here we are now!
Glen: I was like, "Who is this vivacious fun lady?!" I hoped one day she would be my wife and I got my desire!
What do you do for fun?
We love camping, hiking, reading. Glen loves football - both American and 'soccer'! We garden, cook and Penelope loves baking for everyone. We love spending time with family especially our grandchildren. One of our favorite things is sitting with a fun beverage outside on our patio with good friends/family, playing games and shooting the breeze!
