Have you ever felt stuck in your own thoughts?

Maybe to the point of feeling overwhelmed or very anxious?

Then - this is the right post for you!

I’ve got a simple tool for you. I use it myself and find it helpful.

Nothing fancy. No apps. No subscriptions. Just a moment to pause... and a piece of paper (ok, you can use your notes app if you want but the writing element on paper is better for your brain).

Step One: Write It Out

Grab a journal, notebook, or even a napkin if that’s all you’ve got. Now, take a deep breath and write down what’s bothering you.

The swirling thoughts. The nagging worries. The questions that won’t let go.

Don’t overthink it. Don’t censor yourself. Just be honest.

Let the page hold what your mind has been carrying.

Step Two: Shift Perspective

Here’s where it gets interesting. Once you’ve poured everything out, imagine you’re not you for a moment. (I know, it sounds ridiculous, but go with me on this one).

Instead, become a life coach, a wise friend, or an observer sitting quietly in the room.

Look at those words on the page as if someone else wrote them.

Now ask:– What would I say to a dear friend feeling this way?– What truth or comfort would I offer them?– What does the calm, clear-headed version of me know that the anxious version can’t see right now? What clear wisdom would I give to my friend?

Then—write your responses.Yes, actually write them. Let your wiser self speak back.

Why This Matters

This practice won’t solve every problem. But it will help you press pause. It creates a little space between you and the storm of your thoughts.

And in that space?

You’ll often find clarity. Compassion. And surprising strength.

Because here’s the truth:You already carry wisdom inside you.Sometimes, you just need to give it a chance to speak.

So go ahead—Teach thyself. You’ve got this.
